I'm grateful that my mother beat breast cancer, and that my daughter survived a hit and run. I am grateful that awareness of autism is on the rise, and that we are having more happy days then sad ones. I am thankful that I have a large family. I am grateful to be back home. I am grateful that my parents taught me to be a fighter and a survivor, because the last year has been more difficult then any other in my life. I am grateful that my Christmas presents were all wrapped in time and that I was able to make cookies. I am thankful that my sister has found the happiness that most of us only long for and that has escaped me. I'm happy that after a year, I have my mixer back. I am grateful for my fuzzy slippers, my very full dvr, and my new flannel sheets.
